Vodice is a famous Croatian tourist town located 11 km north of Sibenik, and about 60 km south of Zadar. Vodice is situated in a large bay and have about 10 thousand inhabitants. Vodice and many Croatian cities have their origins in Roman times. It has shared tumultuous past of Croatia, resisting the many conquerors. Today the inhabitants of Vodice are engaged in agriculture, fishing and major economic activity is tourism. You can stay in one of the 10 hotels, 2 campsites, and numerous houses and apartments. Vodice is also known for its numerous restaurants, bars, and great nightlife. Numerous festivals, concerts and entertaining parties are organized. Beaches in and around the town are made of gravel and sand. Tribunj, Srima, Pirovac and Jadrija are the surrounding villages near Sibenik and a part of the Vodice Riviera, nice places where you can also stay and have pleasant holidays. Tribunj is known as a fishing village where every afternoon, you can buy fresh fish in the marina. There are also numerous private apartments there. Pirovac is known for its beautiful sandy beaches where you can swim, numerous bays and ancient olive groves. Jadrija is the suburban town of Sibenik. If you are a sailor, Vodice area is very attractive to you because it is near the Kornati archipelago and there are many other attractive islands around where you can navigate. Marinas are located in Vodice and Tribunj.
